This class is ideal for beginners and continuing students developing their screen acting foundations, and serves as a pathway into our Advanced Screen Acting Program.
Our Screen Acting Classes for Teens offer an inclusive and supportive introduction to acting for the screen, while still providing meaningful development for students with prior experience. Designed for emerging actors, this program focuses on building strong foundational skills in acting for camera, understanding on-set processes, taking direction, and working confidently under pressure.
Students work alongside industry professionals to develop truthful screen performances, collaborate creatively with peers, and gain practical insight into how film productions are made. The program encourages growth at each student’s pace, building confidence, technique, and readiness for further screen training.
Led by Matthew Caffoe, Founder and Artistic Director of Mashed Theatre & Films, this program offers students direct mentorship from a working actor, writer, director, and filmmaker with extensive real-world industry experience. Matthew has appeared in feature films including Deathkeeper and Dunny Derby, has written and produced three feature films, and is the writer of over seventeen stage plays that have toured nationally. His coaching focuses on truthful screen performance, professional discipline, and preparing emerging actors for the realities of working in the film industry.
Students are introduced to the fundamentals of acting for camera, focusing on natural performance, listening, and basic camera awareness. This term helps actors understand the differences between stage and screen while building confidence in front of the lens.
